Kicking off this year’s ATOY by highlighting trees that have a special meaning to you in a city.
All you need is a picture of you and a significant or special tree in a city.
Your City Tree photo can also be used for the Asian Tree of the Year contest. A separate submission form will have to be sent to be considered for the contest.
In return, throughout the month of October we will plant a tree in Sri Lanka for each photo you tag Asian Tree of the Year and #CityTree! The tree will be planted in The Hiniduma Bio-link project.
The Hiniduma Bio-link aims to establish a biodiversity corridor between the two largest rainforest patches in the island – Singharaja (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Kanneliya (an International Man and Biosphere Reserve), and to conserve buffer zones around the forest edges through reforestation.
